Home Access Programme –
Free Computer and Internet access for a year for low-income families

The government has released a programme to ensure more children have access to technology at home to support learning. Low income families will apply to a central body for a home access grant and, if eligible, use their grant to buy a compliant package consisting of a computer, internet access, service and support from an approved supplier. Please call the Home Access Helpline on 0333 200 1004 if you think you might qualify.

 

RE: Government Spending Review on services for disabled children

On Friday last week, the new government launched a website which will let the public have their say about public spending. This gives you, as a parent/carer of a child with a disability, a real chance to speak up about decisions that may affect you and your family over the coming years.

As a school, we would therefore urge you to take this opportunity and make your voice heard. The government will be looking at responses over the summer and making decisions in October, so the sooner you have your say, the better.  If you do not have access to the internet, we would be happy for you to use a computer in school.

Boarding Unit

Charlton School has a boarding unit on site which runs from Monday to Friday during term time. Up to eight students can stay over night and currently 9 students use the unit over the week.
